This morning I was watching Tabitha's Salon Takeover on Bravo. The name of the salon was called ChicagoMale and its employed by gay white men. The owner is a gay white man as well and created the business model of MEN ONLY. They refuse to service women because the owner insists on being "a different kind of salon". He believes that the 55,000 men of Chicago will come to a salon that only services men. When a women would walk into the salon, the receptionist would kindly let her know that they do not service women and directs them to another location. As a response by the community, neither men or women would come leaving the salon lifeless. So in response to the unethical decision to have the salon be MEN ONLY, I feel it being hurtful to the women. Luckily the owner got a taste of his own medicine by going to a salon that only serviced women.
To be honest I find it fascinating that a salon would make itself become extremely selective in providing service that they would ultimately risk losing clientele.
